Sonia Wanzilu is a co-founder at On Screen Africa and an award winning documentary director and producer with several years work experience in the local and international film industry.
Her body of work includes a feature on female football referees for BBC World, the Women Solidarity documentary filmed in Congo for UAF-Africa and Action AID, production consultancy work for ARD German TV as well as feature documentaries for CCTV Africa and various local and global non-profits. She directed a 26-minute documentary, “Tumanka goes to School”, which went on to win the Best Documentary award at the 2012 Kalasha Awards in Kenya and was nominated for the Best Documentary category at the Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards 2014.
Toni Kamau is a factual content producer and corporate video producer with over ten years experience. Her past credits include TV series production for broadcast on local and regional TV stations, corporate video production for Safaricom, M-Pesa Foundation, Microsoft, line producing for a Vogue USA shoot in Kenya, as well directing and producing half hour TV documentaries for Al Jazeera, BBC World and CCTV Africa.
Deeply committed to improving Kenya’s emerging film industry, she has served as vice chair of the Kenya Film and TV Professional Association and is currently a member of Kenya’s Official Oscar selection committee.
